Terms & Conditions

The simple rules of booking and joining a program at Shiva Tatwa Yogshala — written in plain English so there are no surprises.

By sending a booking or enquiry through this website, you accept the terms below. If anything is unclear, please ask us before you pay — we are always happy to explain.

About These Terms

These terms are an agreement between you and Shiva Tatwa Yogshala, a yoga school based at Budhanilkantha, Kathmandu, Nepal. They cover this website, our booking form and every program we run.

Booking Your Place

Sending the form on this website is a request, not a confirmed place. We reply by email, normally within 24 hours, with the dates, the price and how to pay.

  • Your place is held only after we confirm it by email and receive your booking deposit.
  • All prices on this website are per person in US dollars, for the whole program.
  • A shared room costs 10% less than a private room; both include the same classes, meals and ashram.
  • Places are limited and are given in the order deposits are received.

Payment

The booking deposit secures your place. The rest of the fee is due before or on your arrival day, unless we agree something else with you in writing. Bank transfer details and other ways to pay are on our Make a Payment page.

  • Any bank or transfer charges are paid by the student.
  • No card or bank details are ever taken through this website.

Cancellations & Refunds

Cancellations, date changes and refunds are covered by our Refund Policy, which is part of these terms. Please read it before you pay.

Visa, Travel & Insurance

You are responsible for your own flights, your Nepal visa and your travel documents. We are happy to send a letter confirming your booking if your visa application needs one.

  • We strongly recommend travel insurance that covers cancellation, illness and, for treks, mountain rescue.
  • Flight delays or visa problems are not covered by the school.

Health & Safety

Yoga, aerial yoga, healing sessions and trekking are physical activities. Please tell us on the booking form about any injury, illness, pregnancy or medical condition, and about your age and weight where we ask for them, so your teacher can keep you safe.

  • Join in at your own pace and stop if something hurts — a teacher will give you a gentler option.
  • Our courses are training and practice, not medical treatment; see your doctor about any health problem.
  • Aerial yoga equipment and trekking routes have safe weight and fitness limits; we will tell you if anything in your booking needs care.

Accommodation & Meals

Your fee includes your room at the ashram and daily vegetarian meals, from the first day to the last day of the program. Extra nights before or after can usually be arranged for a small fee.

  • A shared room is shared with a fellow student of the same gender wherever possible.
  • On yoga treks, nights on the trail are spent in teahouses or lodges.

Life at the Ashram

Our ashram is a quiet place of practice shared with other students and with our neighbours in Budhanilkantha. We ask every student to respect it.

  • Alcohol, drugs and smoking are not allowed in the ashram.
  • Please dress modestly outside class and keep quiet hours in the evening.
  • Behaviour that puts other students or teachers at risk may end a booking without a refund.

Certification

Teacher training certificates are given to students who attend the full program and complete the practical assessment. Missing classes may mean a certificate is delayed until the work is made up.

Changes by the School

We may need to change a teacher, a daily schedule or a trek route for reasons such as weather, illness or safety. The content and the length of your program stay the same. If we have to cancel a program completely, our Refund Policy applies.

Photos & Videos

We sometimes take photos and short videos during classes and events and use them on this website and on our social media. If you would rather not appear, just tell your teacher or email shivatatwayogshala16@gmail.com and we will leave you out.

Your Belongings & Liability

Please look after your own money, passport, phone and other belongings; the school cannot be responsible for items that are lost, damaged or stolen. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under the law of Nepal.

Law & Contact

These terms follow the law of Nepal. We would always rather solve a problem by talking, so please contact us first.
